What is
Reiki
Reiki has been around for centuries and there are various forms
and methods used by many people, cultures and
civilisations.
At present this treatment is not a medically recognised
treatment within the UK but is gradually getting fast recognition from UK medical
practitioners as a treatment to provide or recommend to their patients.
The form of Reiki that I offer is known as Usui Reiki and was
initially founded by Dr Usui. He was originally a teacher, and one of his
students asked a very simple question as to whether he believed in the healing
miracles of Jesus, for which he couldn’t answer. He then started his journey so
as to learn the Christianity faith and many other faiths, to find the
answers for his student. Eventually after
many years of searching from one faith to another he went off on his own up a
mountain alone to seek answers. He wanted to be able to provide the answers to his
students and also himself, so he spent 21 days
meditating, fasting and speaking with the divine it was on the 21st
day that finally he got the answers he was looking for and he received the
various healing symbols, for which we today use so as to be able to offer this
treatment. His story is both remarkable and enlightening and is taught to us
when going through the training process.
Over the years Reiki has become more westernised, and therefore
more widespread, although still a lot of people haven’t actually
heard of it.
Reiki is a treatment that many will go to for the following
reasons:
·
will relax you when you are stressed, angry,
frustrated, suffering anxiety, depression
·
brings about deep relaxation
·
Helps your mind to become focused
·
energises you when you
feel drained
·
relieves pain
·
accelerates natural healing of physical wounds
·
improves health
·
detoxifies the body
·
dissolves energy blockages
·
releases emotional wounds
·
increases the vibrational frequency of the body
·
helps change negative conditioning and behaviors
The treatment lasts approximately
30 minutes to 45 minutes, and many people come away feeling refreshed,
surprised at the experience they had whilst having the treatment, and how they
feel physically after.
